Applicants are required to meet one of the following criteria with a competitive result, and demonstrate that they fulfill any prerequisite requirements and essential requirements for admission:
Recent secondary education
Complete secondary qualifications equivalent to DSE, or with other equivalents
Higher education study
Complete or partly complete a recognized higher education program at a recognized higher education institution
Vocational Education and Training (VET)
Complete an award from a registered training organization
Work and life experience
Relevant work and life experience with certified documentation

English language entry requirements
In addition, in the aviation industry, English is essential for communicating and manual reading. A sufficient English level of reading, listening and speaking is important. Possession of one or more of above qualifications, in addition to the academic entry requirements, does not, in itself, guarantee a place at the Hong Kong Aviation Training Center. Applications are considered on an individual basis and selection is competitive. Students need to go through the internal Multiple Mini Interview process for assessing their English level and skills of communication.
Where previous study/work experience was conducted in English, the application must be accompanied by certified documentation from the educational institution/employer certifying that the language of instruction/employment was English.

What you'll need
English language especially speaking, listening and reading are essential for our training program.
For the practical training component of this Diploma, you must physically fit to attend due to safety issue.
What you'll learn
You will commence your studies with an introduction to aviation, aviation management and safety. There are also courses in professional and technical communication and human factors. You’ll even have the chance to spend a semester flying in our simulators to understand the pilot side of aviation.
As your studies progress you will explore aviation law, finance, economics and marketing; airline operations management; airport, project and strategic management; and risk and safety systems. You’ll also study leadership and communications.

For the practical training component of this Diploma, students must be physically fit to attend due to safety issue.
Discipline of our students is one of the top priority in Hong Kong Aviation Training Center. Training Center policy, rules and regulations are set for our student's reference. Students who do not comply with our rules and regulations may result from an oral reprimand to dismissal from our training center.
Practical training is required for completing this program. Students who do not take up or delay the Practical training, you will not be graduate the Diploma in Aviation Management & Operation until finish the all practical training session.

For each course you study, students will need to allocate time for various classes such as lectures, tutorials, workshops, seminars and practicals. Plus you will need additional hours to study in your own time to complete assignments, readings, projects and contribute to online e-learning. So as a general rule, if you are studying full-time you would need to allocate 15 – 25 hours of study when at our training center and 15 – 25 hours of independent study per week.
Your studies at HKATC will incorporate both practical, professionally focused and research-based learning, so assessment types will vary.

air traffic controller: directing and monitoring air traffic (both on the ground and in the sky), coordinating flight schedules, overseeing stringent safety protocols and aircraft communication
